Dear Margie

I do hope you'll forgive me for not answering sooner but I have a system that doesn't seem to work so good. Every time I receive a letter I put in a little box I have until I answer it. I found your letter on the bottom of the box and I don't know how I overlooked not writing.Well Kid, how are you? I received a letter from Billy today saying she has been sick and I'm really sorry to hear that for I know A.O. sure needs her and I'm sure I would like see her as well and happy as I remember her, I'd give a lot of money to see all the going but I think I'll take the army for civilian life. The army is tops in my opinion, Say hello to Charlie and Paul, especially for me, for I seem to have forgotten them in my letter. The weather here is the rainiest

I have ever seen for it rains at least over a day everyday. I never appreciate the weather at home until I come here. I will get marksman's medal for my shooting on the range. This is not real good with a rifle but for the short time, I had a rifle I am satisfied to write this letter for we've been so busy everyday and last night I had to work guard duty so I've been a little behind with all my correspondence.

I want to write to everyone at A.0.es. as soon as I get caught up tonight or "tomorrow". The scenery here is really beautiful with the mountains and the Puget bound to get them off and all the ships, planes and submarines. I see on the bay every day.

I went to the dance last night at the Service Club here on the Post. It's the first good time I've had off duty. I jitter bugged till I couldn't hardly walk. This was my first acquaintance with any of the girls from Seattle. I think they are OK but they'd never equal the girls at home.

Well Margie, I'm just about out of words so I'll close now wishing lots of luck to you.

Love Barney
