I received your lovely letter of " " and expected to answer it the same time as I did Betsy's but something came up and I couldn't. Hope you don't mind a day later. One beautiful Sunny weather is going away and we are getting some more rain.

moonlight and warm nights going to waste. They are not only going to waste but should be stored away some place so every one can enjoy them. Dam the luck.

So you were surprised to see Dale Dick. I was just as surprised to read of it. That sure was a lucky break for him. You know he left "4" one class ahead of us and so he made the grade. Otherwise he too would have been sent back to the Infantry.

Betsy wrote that she had a wonderful time in Chicago

you know I almost believe I know that town although I've never been there. So many people wrote me about it. Some day I'll take a trip there out of curiosity. One of the fellows here who lives in Cincy has just re-enlisted in the Army for 3 years. I think he's crazy. To top it off I think he asked to come back here. Oh well people are nuts. Well "Sis" I'd better close I have to write a couple more letters. Okay! Thanks.
