Hello Margie

Received your letter some time ago and was very glad to hear from you Once again Im sorry that I havent answered sooner but Im still pretty busy And then too with Thanksgiving and all I managed to have a little time off so I sure took it Of course now Im way behind in my correspondence but Ill just keep plugging along and see if I can caught up Did you know that my brother is finally home and a civilian Ye Man He arrived in the States on the th I believe and was sent to Camp Shank NY and then to Indian Town Gap Pa for his discharge He got home on the evening of the th just two years to the day that he set sail for England How about that He called me on Thursday the th and was I glad to hear his voice He seemed to be OK except that he said they had a pretty rough trip back and they all got seasick He still hadnt completely recovered from that but guess it didnt last long He was wounded in the leg but not seriously he claims He never told anyone about it so Mother and Rosella was really surprised He had written me about the escapade in which it had happened but asked me not to mention it to anyone so I didnt Mother says that he really looks about the same except a little older in the face Guess I would too if I had gone through what he had gone through As near as I can figure he has the Good Conduct Ribbon the ETO Ribbon with battle stars the Bronze star the purple heart and the victory Ribbon Must look like a Xmas tree Here I am spouting ogg bout his stuff and perhaps he had already written you and told you all bout it or perhaps Mother has I kind of doubt if Bill has as he said that he just didnt want to do any writing for a while I know that the way that I will feel when I get out

A couple of weeks ago Tommie and I and a couple of the kids took a very nice trip We went over the Arizona to see the Grand Canyon The Perrified Forest and the Painted Desert Was certainly a worthwhile trip and I wouldnt have missed it for anything Of course I had to blow a tire but that was the only trouble we had on the whole trip We took a lot of pictures but havent gotten them developed as yet so dont know how they came out If you ever get a chance to go out there dont miss it Before the war I often wondered why people wanted to see Europe before they saw America and now I wonder even more It is certainly wonderful Im hoping to get home for Xmas and bring Tommie too but she is going to be discharged right around then so if I do get home Ill probably only be there for a couple of days right at Xmas so I probably wont get to see you then but Im hoping that it wont be too much longer before I get on myself Ive sort of figuring on the last of February or the st of March sometime so that isnt too far off Keep you fingers crossed for me though so nothing happens This is a beautiful Sunday afternoon Its nice and warm for this time of year Dont guess well do much of anything though as were both broke Too close to payday you know We get paid next Friday Weve had snow flurries so far but they didnt amount to very much Wont be too long before well really be having some Winter weather though I guess Itd pretty late this year How are you doing on the old TimeClock Kid If I have to push one of those when I get out I dont know what Ill do In fact I dont even know how Lets hope that I never have to learn
