Dear Jackie;
How is everything at home. Is sure would like to be there with you so we could go up to camp and go swimming. We went swimming yesterday morning. It was fun. How is Flash, do you look after him for Daddy. I was glad to get the pictures, the fellows all think you are pretty nice and you can bet daddy think you are the best. How is little sister, you see mother lets you hold her once in a while, when you sit all still. The picture of you holding her is very nice. How did you like staying with Grammie, when mother went after her. I bet it was fun, did

Dear Nelli:
I wrote to Jackie last night but didn't have time to mail it. As luck would have it we left for the range a t 6:30 instead of 8:30 that gave us a little sleep. We got here about seven tonight, then I had to take out a special detail until 8:45. Shower, Shave and had 15 minutes at the Px before it closed. They say tomorrow is an easy day. I sure hope so. If we can only get off early. i will go to Elbation. I don't think there is

any hope of it. We have lost our good CO; Commanding Officer, Lt. Wiley he is going back overseas, also our field Sargent. He is getting out of the army. I am afraid things will be a little mixed up for a while if not for the whole cycle. They say that they are cutting off one week, as they are closing the camp for I.R.T.C. and making it into a reception center. it is sure a hell of a place to send the boys coming back from overseas. In the beginning it was a tank training center. it is the first infantry training that has taken place here some where about 40 Battalions of us.

will there isn't much more to write about. I received the box of candy tonight and as I told Jackie I think the pictures are swell. I also had a letter from Dot and Carli tonight. Well I must close, as we get up at 5:30 tomorrow and must wash the windows before we fall out as we didn't have time for a house clearing (Y.Q.) party tonight, Inspection tomorrow. We shot the B.A.R. today at every range up to 500 yards. This next week machines gun. They say it is an easy week.

Love to all
Philip
