Dear Jackie:
I think daddy had better answer your nice letter he received the other day. I was sure glad to hear that Flash and kitty were fine and also that the new doll was a good girl. Mother also wrote in her letter that Jackie was a good girl, so everything I guess is fine. Except daddy isn't home.

16 thousand ton class. The pond is a big that it will take us eight days to get across it. We won't be able to see land at all during those days. It has just began to get a little ruff and the boys are talking about it. Daddy is going up on deck to see what it looks like
