Dear Jackie, Last night a little bird came and sat in a tree in front of our house. He told me that he had just come from Groton and that he had seen a little girl by the name of Jacklyn playing in the road in front of her house. He also said that he saw a car stop, to keep from running over her. Honey you know better than to play in the road and you must remember if a car should hit you; daddy wouldn't have any little sweetheart when he gets home. I didn't write anything to your mother about this as I know that you won't do it anymore, not that you know it worries daddy. If I should have another report about it, I will write to mother and tell her how to punish you and it will be hard.
