Dearest Darling Donna

Just received your most welcomed letter so decided to answer immediately. I didn't think you could write such a long & nice letter but it's funny what one can do if only he or she will at least try & I sure did appreciate it and hope you will continue to do so.

I'm very sorry about not sending my picture but will have my mother send you one as soon as she write that she has them ( I mean she had some more made & hasn't received them yet ). So you say a prayer for me every night will that sure is very

nice of you and believe it or not honey I've changed a lot in many ways, I even say a prayer before going to bed believe that or not but its the truth. The weather down here has been awful since Christmas day & mud clear over over ankle and it sure isn't any picnic walking through that stuff.

The army is going to give us boys a ticket to see the cotton for football game in Dallas over the weekend so I'll probably get to see Larry, I'll say hello to him for you ok. I'm writing this letter in the guardhouse and it sure is cold in here and the way that wind is a whistling out

side it isn't going to be any to plant/ Well honey how are you and school coming along? from the way you talk about it it doesn't seem to appeal to you. I think my next furlough will be by aeroplane at least that's what the government is doing at the present, at least I hope so. Well honey I'll have to sign off and go and walk my post which I know I won't like a bit.
