Somewhere in Czechoslovakia
My 11, 1945
Dear Donna,
Well Donna I think its about time I stop on write you a few lines. I'm very sorry I'm neglected to write you with I've so many to write I can't think of who to write to first. Well here I am now somewhere in Czechoslovakia. This makes the third country I've been in in the last month or so. Germany, Austria & Czech seem to look all alike to me, the people live the same and everything. How did the war over here being over effect the people in Chicago, I sure now how I've been and expect many others would of been the same.
Bun having wonderful weather have the past week and tonight it started to rain just a little. Had a little snow the first of May but all that remains is all on the mountain tops. Haven't been getting much mail lately and just can't understand why, one reason is you don't see, to write and you see I have a darn good reason. I'm now in a little burg of about thirty houses ain't that just like my luck to be located in a burg like that when the wars over. Well Donna I can't think of much to write for now but will write again soon. Have now stamps awful hard to get over here, excuse please. Write soon.
Love Verne
