Dear Donnie,

To start off with, we don't know each other. That sounds sort of dumb but what can you except [sic] from a friend of George Garbacz. He gave me your address so I didn't think you would mind if I wrote a friendly letter.

To start of [sic] with I am from the fair state of West Virginia, and believe it or not I wore shoes before I came to the army. If you will look at the map and find Weirton you will know where I live. Next thing to tell you about is that I am about 6'3" and part my hair on the left side. My eyes are green and my skin is white.

I like to dance anytime and play basketball in the winter. Swimming is my summer sport.

The reason I joined the army was that I was curious. Too curious for my own good. The next best reason for dancing into the army was to get a college education.

I got a good family and I haven't got a police record. My sister is beautiful and my brother is good-looking. My Dad is big and my Mother small. I took after my Dad.

I would send you a picture but right now I am in the hospital. I don't think its [sic] serious but every time I want to leave they tell me I have to stay a few days longer. I am going to try to get out tomorrow.
