OCT. 21 Dear Sis:
I received your letter today and I am always glad to hear from you I also received Florence letters some time ago. I didn't get to answer her, so I will answer her and you both the same time. I really don' know anything special to write about, but figure I better write a few lines and tell you that I am still OK, and getting along alright, How is everybody up your way? I hear grand pop is pretty sick again, I guess some of these days he will pass out. I don't know whether I told you already or not, anyway I won $15.00 a few weeks ago on a football game, I only took one chance which cost $40.25. I didn't even want a chance at first, but they kept on asking me so I took one just to get rid of them I guess I was just plain lucky. How are you and Lee getting along? I thought you be married by now but it does not look that way. Say Esther when you see Sally and Bill tell them Hello from me and that I received the birthday card they send, I also received the birthday card and the horseshoe you sent me and I was sure glad to get it. I've been carry it in my jacket. This is all the news for this time, I don't know much to begin with, and don't forget to write again. So Long, Brother
