Dear Mother and Dad

Received your letter today also my pen and watch from Carl I am writing this letter in the guard house and it is now am Monday morning Suppose you have received letter that I wrote on Saturday

I am glad to hear that you all are interested in the Red Cross work and hope they continue the good work The boys all appreciate all that they are doing for the boys over there and in USA also It is a noble work


About that box the cake was pretty good only the nice frosting was all gone the little cookies were OK

and the fruit was pretty good but one could tell that they were on there way if being to pick to eat

Everything is the same way around here I am glad to hear that Uncle Graham is improving Also that old Ted is still with you all Got a letter from Hazel saying that she was going to start house cleaning Also she is going to make a batch of candy for me I sure will greet it with a smile

I am writing this letter trying to keep awake and I sure am tired I have minutes left and then a new corporal takes his relief out and brings mine back and takes charge until the next corporal times comes There are three corporals on the guard here
