My Dear Mummy,

Thank you very much for your letter. We went to Church this morning and had a fine sermon given by a South American missionary. I am very sorry about the card. I hope you got it alright. I have made as much of the aeroplane as I can. All the body and wings etc. I cannot make anymore until I get next weeks Modern Boy with which the mechanism is given away. It looks jolly good as far as I have made it. Isn' it sad about "Edgar Wallace". There will be no more thrillers now. A chap has just given me a posh envelope, so I will send your letter in it. I hope you like it. We had some five short this morning. We were playing footer on the cork when somebody kicked the ball in the baths. Mr Bartlett would not give us his key so we got Mr. Metcalfe'. Mr Metcalfe' was a rotten old thing

and wouldn' open the door. I kicked it with my foot and charged it with my shoulder but all to no effect. The I am not meaning anything picked up an enormous brick and pitched it at the door and broke it open. We all roared with laughter. Of course we did not need a key now the lock having been bust. So I punted the ball out. Then I stayed in the baths while the other boys kicked the ball in purposely for me to punt out. I hit the telegraph wires 9 times in succesion. They didn' bust one buck. The snow has all cleared away now but we cannot play footer on the court or down at the field yet. I didn' get alot of dog pictures from the paper because of Crafts show, The Black swan is going fine, ever so exciting. Do dogs get hungry just before they have puppies. The water jug on the table today reminded me of Jean' stomach. IT was like this --

I shall be glad it dirty Flo will have one of them won' you? They mite not be Percies they might be proper Wumfies which they jolly well got to be. But still we cannot expect too much. Arsenal beat Portsmouth 2-0 beastly swig isn' it. Anyhow Sheffield Wednesday beat Chelsea 3-0. Dashed good knocked oe London team out of the cup. Don' forget Mommy that - I don' want to listen to the Cup Final on the wireless so don' go making too many arrangements until I get home and (as the man of the house Hmm Hmm) make arrangements. Half term is 27th Feb and we break up on the 5th April. On Saturday nite Mr. Winkle (the new master) invented a new game called cock fighting. You have to hold one leg up with one hand and put the other hand behind your head. Then you try to barge each other over. How is Grandma very well I hope, I think I must close down now as it is nearly time. Please give my love to everybody.
