My Dear Mummy,

This is the last letter I shall write to you this term isn't it. Thank you very much for your letter and card. Thank you very much for getting John the Easter Eggs. I will not forget to pay you back. So glad John was pleased with his letter. Is he still with you?

I expect he has gone back by now tho. I bet the puppies are sweet. I am longing to get home and take charge of them. I don't mind how dirty they are. I don't blame Jean for getting a little tired of them if they have clawed her about a lot. The poor "94 Buns" I will see what I can

do about Jean feeding them. I shan't mind making my playroom into a kennel. Not a bit. I will try and make a little house for them. I won't try I jolly well will. I should like to see Peter again. It will be a jolly good opportunity won't it? You must do a small but of the remaining spring cleaning when I am home so as I can help you to do it. Have you written to Mrs. Metacalfe about the coming to dinner on Tuesday. I am so glad Grandma thought my letter was allright. We played a game of hockey on the court on Saturday and a game of footer on the court with a tennis ball the day before. The side I won both games. It snowed a bit on Saturday. Nothing to speak.

of tho. Did it snow at all in Brum? I don't suppose it did. I will try to have a clean face to see you with. But there is bound to be some snoot on it from looking outside the carraige window. Are you bringing Jean down to the station. Please yourself because as I said you know best. In my tuckbox which I packed today I am bringing home a shocking great horseshoe to throw about. A chap here has bust 6 saucers and a draw, a chair and the panel of a cupboard. Jolly good don't you think? I have broken several books and thrown the iron piece of a small pickasce at the wall and made a lot of dents about three inches deep. What a laugh I don't think. We did not do any prep to night. It ÿ

feels terrific end of term now. No more work. Only sleep. Hurrah! I am writing a lot of this letter on Saturday (to-day). I will write a bit to-morrow (Sunday) Well here is Sunday and I am going to write a bit more as I promised. It is snowing to day a bit. We are not going to Church today because there is not an end to term service. But all the same we rigged up a service of our own in the gym. It came off jolly well. I gave the lesson and a few other things. We were also going to have a burial service of a dead rabbit, which Sammy the cat killed this morning. It was the bearer of the dead rabbit in a tin box. Alan very kindly parked it on to me. It did not smell ÿ

Did you know: The word "inst" was a very commonly used abbreviation for the Latin "instante mense" meaning this month.

much. We all dressed up and went outside but Mr. Bartlett send us in just as we got to the burial ground. It was a swizz. A chap here has just thrown a gas shade out of the window and broke it. It looked ripping. He also pulled a blind down this morning. We did not do any prep last night and are not doing any Bible work today. I will now draw you a picture to take up some more room.

The train arrives at Brum at the usual time about 10 to 11. At least I think so. I will go and ask now. I have just asked Mr. Metcalfe and he said about 10-55. I am afraid that I cannot think of anymore to say. So please give my love to the family. I shall see you soon in a very little while.
