Dear Mummy
Thanks very very much for the parcel, and the cards in your previous letter. I am using the little ink well now because I am writing you this on Charford. It is just what I wanted. I am not in Miller's tent, I am in Hawkes' with quite a decent crowd, I am also in quite a decent section. So things are not so bad after all.
My luggage is coming home P.L.A. My suitcase will be packed inside my trunk. I will tell you what I want you to bring in my letter on Sunday. I am reading a book called "Cry Havoc" by Beverly Nichols. It's jolly good. My final position in Hist was 5th, Chess 8th, Gerry 11th. I don't know any others yet. Will tell you everything on Sunday Could you tell me the name of the hotel we are staying at at Scarborough, I have forgotten it. Thanks tremendously for parcel.
love Teddie
