My Dear Mother
I am sending a copy of a paper that the YMCA has printed for the soldiers I knew you would be interested I did not bring my own so I am using theirs I was in Chattanooga Saturday PM and Sunday It is quite a place Its population is about I went last Sunday because there is no knowing where we will be next Sunday We went to movies Saturday night and looked the place over Sunday We went to the Union station and saw the locomotive that was captured and used by the North in One of those with a big smoke stackMost of the buildings are oldI havent seen a thing yet like that letter that Hartford I havent received any mail since I left Humphreys I sent that special

delivery so as to be sure you would get my address as soon as possible I know I will get some mail if I wait long enough But it is the waiting that I dont like but believe me you have to dirt in the army I will be mighty glad to hear how things are at home I must have a lot of mail on the road somewhere for I havent had any for weeks now It will all come in a heap when I do get it Somebody must have a grudge against me and is holding my mail back Whats the use of worrying but I certainly do hate to stick around at mail call and not get anything As long as everybody is well at home I dont mind so much Ive got to beat it for theres a formation in about minutes Offering to hear from someone soon
