Dear Father
It is with the greatest of pleasure of writing you a few lines to let you know that I am Well and hearty and hoping that when you get this it may find you Enjoying the same Blessing I left Saint Louis on the nd at three o clock in the Evening and I arrived here on the evening of the th I saw a dreadful accident yesterday afternoon I saw where two trains made a collission it was done yesterday morning at Gallatin thirty six miles from Nashville there was three soldiers killed and twenty to thirty wounded the Locomotives ran into each other in a short curve in the railroad I saw where the Boys got killed it took them to clear the track out Cos our track in at Nashville a bout eight o clock in the same tent as I was in Before and the same Division and same place we have very plenty of Nice weather here it appears to me like Sunday it is so uwesome I cant tell you much a bout the front But I think that our department Grant is moving the Potomac army Now I will try to escape the Spring campaign my wound is not all healded up a great But I think it will after while You cant imagine how much fun I had at Saint Louis with Bob I will write to him When I get settled I think that I will stay here a few days any how I left all well and hearty at Saint Louis I was at the theater twice and circus once and museum once they are setting the table now I hear the dishes a rattling I have one Dollar left for to get me a part and some envelopes and Writing paper I have a few stamps I would like to stay a while longer with you if it had of been possible hear any thing in the papers Now I have down at St Louis She has Not been there only years She is a nice Lady I did not get to see uncle rehy he was down the river and up I feel Better since I had my dinner I ate my dinners this day week a go DidnEt forgot my first folio I want you to give my best to all Inquiring Friends So No More at Present Give my Love to all the children and the Balance of the Family So No More at Present
